YOUR FIRST VISIT
We understand that visiting a chiropractor for the first time can come with a few nerves or uncertainties—but rest assured, our team is here to make your experience as calm, welcoming, and seamless as possible.
Your first visit includes a thorough consultation where Dr. Bridie takes the time to listen to your concerns, learn about your medical history, and understand your goals for care.
A gentle, non-invasive physical examination follows, which may include posture assessments, spinal checks, and movement testing to better understand how your nervous system is functioning. For little ones who may be feeling nervous, Dr. Bridie uses real-to-life spine models and simple language to explain exactly how their spine works and what they can expect during their first adjustment. This helps children (and parents) feel informed, comfortable, and confident as they begin their chiropractic journey.
If appropriate, Dr. Bridie will then invite you into the practice area for a closer look at how your body is functioning. This part of the visit is hands-on and interactive, allowing her to assess how well your spine and nervous system are working together. She may perform simple neurological and orthopaedic checks, including testing reflexes, muscle tone, balance, and posture. These gentle assessments help identify areas of tension, misalignment, or imbalance that may be affecting overall function.
Spinal alignment will be carefully evaluated, and any findings will be clearly explained so you understand what’s happening and why. Dr. Bridie ensures that you remain comfortable throughout the process, especially if it's your child's first visit—offering encouragement, clear communication, and choice at every step.
If it’s the right time for you, and it is clinically appropriate and safe to do so, your first chiropractic adjustment may be given. This is always tailored specifically to your age, body, and needs. Whether that’s a very gentle technique for a baby or child, or a more focused approach for an adult. Every adjustment is explained beforehand and performed with care, so you feel supported and at ease as you take this step toward better health. If needed, X-rays may be requested to gain a clearer understanding of what’s happening beneath the surface and to help guide the most effective course of care.
At the end of your visit, Dr. Bridie will take the time to discuss her findings with you and outline a recommended care plan tailored to your specific needs and goals. This includes how many appointments may be ideal to kickstart your journey toward better spinal health, and what kind of support you can expect along the way. Our CA (Chiropractors Assistant) will also run through what to do to get the best of your adjustments.
Every step is designed to empower you with knowledge, confidence, and a clear path forward — whether you’re seeking relief, better function, or long-term wellbeing.
